Bromford’s Freaky Friday was ghoulishly good as dozens of colleagues got into the spirit of Halloween to raise funds for YouCan Foundation.
There were skeletons, witches, evil clowns, vampires, zombies and chainsaw wielding maniacs. Even notorious Saw villain Jigsaw made an appearance as the two main Wolverhampton offices were transformed into spooky sites for one day only. A total of £124.86 was raised for YouCan, which will be match funded which takes the grand total to £249.72.
Customer services team member Maxine Stibbs, who dressed as the Wicked Witch of the West (complete with flying monkey and broomstick), received a trophy for winning best dressed individual. The best dressed team went to lettings.
The organisation’s 1,100 colleagues have helped raise more than £28,000 for YouCan Foundation since it was launched in 2011. Every penny helps our customers and their communities unlock their potential by giving them the opportunity to bid for grants of up to £300.
Customer advisor Yvonne Dainty, who helped organise the fundraising, said: “It was great to see so many people get into the spirit of Halloween. There were some fantastically scary costumes and it was really difficult to pick a winner!
“Everyone had great fun dressing up but we were, of course, raising money for YouCan which is such a brilliant charity for our customers. We’re delighted that the money we raised in a few short hours will enable another customer to bid for a grant and turn their ideas into a reality.”
It’s often difficult to get that ‘one chance’ in life to make a change and turn your dreams into a reality; so we want to make it easier for people to access start-up funding and kick start bright ideas such as community projects, education, volunteering and business opportunities.
