We know that you will be disappointed but we will write to let you know why. Please consider our reasons carefully before deciding whether to apply again.

Throughout the project, you’ll need to keep track of what you’re spending and ensure all receipts are kept together.

When you have completed your project, you’ll need to show us these, as well as completing an end of grant form to confirm how the grant has been spent and what you achieved.

We will confirm what we require in our offer letter and may include:

  • Proof of ID and confirmation of address
  • We may ask for an reference
  • permissions form to share your story and photo permissions form

You will need to agree, sign and return the grant offer accepting the terms and conditions. We will then arrange for the grant to be with you in 10 working days and review the grant within 12 months.

You will need to meet the YouCan Criteria.

We will support any ideas that will make a difference in your community or help unlock your own potential. It could be relatively small such as starting a youth football team, setting up support groups or buying equipment to start a local computer group. Successful applicants have included cheer leading teams for young girls in Wolverhampton, an autism support group in Leamington and a ‘Men in Sheds’ club in Cirencester.

The grant is up to £300 maximum to pay for some or all of your project costs. When you apply you’ll need to tell us as much as you can about how you’ll use the money and why it’s needed, including a break down of all the costs.

YouCan will expect projects to only use the funds to purchase or set up things directly related to the project. Further details can be found within our criteria on apply now page.

You Can is open to either individuals or local community groups to support local projects.

YouCan is a starter fund to support bright ideas. People have told us that it can be quite difficult to get help with new ideas so YouCan aims to make the process of getting start up funding easy and accessible to all.

YouCan is managed by Bromford. Bromford has 50 years experience of working with communities and individuals to help them be the best they can be. YouCan has been operating for the past three years and we are now looking to bring in partners to enable us to allow more bright ideas to come to life.

YouCan legally sits within Bromford Housing Group Limited, a not for profit social organisation. If you are interested in donating to YouCan and want to learn a bit more about our legal structure please get in touch with elaine.browne@bromford.co.uk

The YouCan governance process is overseen by a team that meet four times a year to ensure that awards are being allocated fairly. All YouCan awards will be published on this website together with details of the impact they have made.

YouCan is initially being set up to support communities where Bromford play a part.

If you aren’t a Bromford Customer, you are still able to apply to YouCan – But your idea must benefit a Bromford community.

There’s a list of these areas on the Apply Now page.

YouCan makes its awards on a monthly basis by the YouCan team although if you don’t meet the criteria we aim to get back to you within 5 working days. Once you have successfully qualified for an award we will be in touch with you to receive payment information and agree the conditions.

We would also like to keep in contact with you to see if YouCan could help your idea develop further in the future. Head over to the Apply page to get in touch now!
